Corey and his Texas buddies smacked the blue catfish this morning! Lots of evidence of a shad spawn going on putting the catfish into feed mode. Best bite was 6" to 18" deep. We did bump out later and fish a 6ft deep area and boated a few more solid fish.
My afternoon crew, Alan and Michael from Wisconsin, wanted to catch their first paddlefish and first blue catfish ever. They each caught a paddlefish fairly quickly and we went to an area that was good a couple of years ago for shallow water catfish. We blanked on the first spot. Next up, we went to an area I fished Monday and didn't do very well. It was game on today. They each caught a good amount of catfish. Alan and Michael are going to give white bass a try with me in the morning.

On Friday, Jason brought his wife and kids out to celebrate one of his boys birthdays. We started out fishing a very fast action white bass bite keeping only the ones that were hooked deep. We finished up the trip with each of them catching a paddlefish.
