A special afternoon trip with my family at Skiatook Lake fishing for hybrid-striper and playing in the water to celebrate Father’s Day.  Three wonderful things about today, 1) Quality time with my family 2) on the water 3) BIG hybrid-striper

Father’s Day trip with Dusty, his brother, and their dad on Skiatook Lake in Oklahoma fishing for hybrid-striper with a few bonus crappie and catfish. It was a beautiful morning with a fun group of guys.  They all were impressed with the big fight these fish display!!!

Hybrid Striper Skiatook Lake

Fishing for hybrid striper Skiatook Lake in Oklahoma was a little bit slower than it has been, but all in all it was a great day on the water!!! The rain has moved on and brought Skiatook Lake in Oklahoma as close to normal as it’s been in a long time! The Schmidt brothers took home their limits of hybrid striper filets plus a handful of catfish.  All fish caught on gizzard shad, both cut and live, using downlines and freelines.

What a fun trip today on Skiatook Lake fishing for hybrid-striper with Maher from Saudi Arabia and his friends! It was laughs all afternoon and the catching was pretty good too.

The fish were moving and running a ridge. We’d catch a couple and have to move just a little bit to get back on them. A cat and mouse type pattern, and they got it done! Most fish were caught on downlines and they preferred smaller lively gizzard shad.

I have a few openings this week on Skiatook for hybrid-striper or white bass on Grand Lake.

Professional Fishing Guide

Picked up James and crew about 4:45pm for an evening on Skiatook Lake in Oklahoma catching hybrid-stripers. It was on tonight! The average size was really good and the areas we hadn’t fished yet this year are definitely holding solid fish. These guys were a blast to be on the water with.

Hybrid Striper at Skiatook Lake in Oklahoma

My family joined me for the second trip of the day on Skiatook Lake in Oklahoma fishing for hybrid stripers. It sure was fun being on the water catching dinner with my family.

We found the fish feeding heavily in a little creek next to a drop off.  The action was as fast as we could get a fresh live gizzard shad down.  This fast paced action is great for kids to get addicted to the outdoors.

All fish were caught on downlines.

First trip of the day fishing with Lewis and Linda from NW Oklahoma. They wanted large, hard fighting hybrid striper onSkiatook in Oklahoma didn’t disappoint. As I was dropping off the Couch group this morning, a family was at the dock fishing. They asked if I had time to take them out for a little fishing, swimming and a boat ride. 
They were on their way through from New Mexico headed east vacationing. 
They were a hoot reeling in the hybrid stripers! We caught enough for them a dinner and went for a swim.

What a special day on Skiatook Lake!!! I had the pleasure of taking Janet Couch, River, and Jace to battle hybrid stripers this morning. Janet won this fishing trip on a raffle we donated to benefit the American Heart Association.
Janet brought Jace with her and you can check out this young man’s life battle on Facebook at Pray For Jace. It was a blast watching he and River having a special time today fishing for hybrid-striper.

The fish were wanting small lively shad this morning and were able to fill their limits before it got hot outside.  They decided to take a swim in the beautiful water of Skiatook Lake while I cleaned their catch.
